GPS units three producers control nearly 90% of the market in the United States. They are Garmin, Tom Tom, and Magellan.
Garmin currently has almost half the market. They make a great product! Their names to the GPS in the United States this is the reason they are the most deep and broad product line and price range. Garmin dominates near the end of the market. And they have a very competitive product in the middle and end.
Some examples of their best to sell the new Nuvi 350 nuvi line is, the Nuvi 660 and Nuvi 760. 350 is their basic, mid-price model that can do other things that you need GPS to do. Now sold at 200 dollars. The nuvi 350, however, does not have two important features, large screen and Bluetooth. Get it, you ll have to spring for the nuvi 660 a little over $300. Add another 50 bucks, and you can buy the Nuvi 760 and the double point routing.
Tom Tom controls nearly 20% of the market. They have the best products at all levels and into the middle price range. I especially like their Tom Tom One, 3rd Edition, entry-level effects. Currently running 150 dollars.
Magellan also controls nearly 20% of the market, even though they sell a little less than what the Tom Tom in the U.S. market. Magellan Maestro's 3.100 is their entry level units, sold for slightly more than $100. Perhaps they are a better deal Maestro 4250, which now sells under 250 dollars, but still is one of the competitors Nuvi 660, which sold for $50 more!
Okay, okay! Time to allow the cat out of the bag!
What's one GPS unit does not need to read the review!
Well, this is not the answer to the Riddle small cross roads, but it's true - one that makes you buy the wrong product for your needs and your budget.
You can see here the problem and the GPS market. You have such a Nerd technician (or you feel like you need one) to understand the need to know to buy the right unit.
I 'll be honest with you ... Most GPS unit reviews written by people who love to talk about the difference between this chipset and that chipset, the number of seconds it takes as an example to stick to the signal compared with other examples.
Of course, and some important things - but they only represent about 3% of the population. We just want the other units do what they should, which is supported by a good company. Reviews, as some said buy Garmin Nuvi 350 because it is the best device for under $200, and really need Bluetooth, and then again less fortunate.
Unfortunately, actually getting the right unit for you and your needs, you re just going to do a little homework.
Of course, it all made easy by this website information that is written in English (not a scientific language!).
